Brianna Russell (Production Designer) is a Fine Furniture Designer/Maker who took the leap into Production Design and is currently in her graduating year at NIDA. Heralding from a small mining town in the north west of Australia, Brianna had always had big creative ambition and moved to Perth to pursue her classical ballet studies, then later furniture design. In 2010 Brianna won several awards that secured her position amongst some of Australia’s leading creatives in a collaborative workshop. In 2015 Brianna moved to Sydney where she found her footing in the theatre scene and has been working as a designer and mechanist since. In 2017, she also had the privilege of becoming an Art Department intern on Bruce Beresford’s feature “Ladies in Black”. Brianna’s design aesthetic is deeply rooted in immersive research and her concepts aim to provoke ethical conversations.
