Sandy Whittem is a Melbourne-based director, writer, actor, singer, academic, and comedian. She has written, performed, and directed for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Melbourne Fringe Festival, and Geelong’s Footlight Productions to critical acclaim. Sandy co-wrote and starred in the Kate Cameron Company’s five-star production of Foreign Woman, a cabaret telling the story of her immigrant grandmother in its Melbourne and Sydney seasons in 2018. Sandy is a seasoned comedian, holding several leadership positions in the Melbourne University Comedy Revue Board in 2017 and 2018, directing their weekly sketch revue Rowdy Laughter and several major shows. Sandy’s most recent theatrical project is her Melbourne International Comedy Festival show Three Guards on Manus Island, which opens on April 8 2019.
