Jess Cockerill is an emerging writer whose work explores the interplay of science and culture. Though now based in Melbourne, her upbringing in coastal Western Australia informs her interrogation of human relationships with the environment across past, present, and future. She is currently freelancing and studying a Masters in Journalism at the University of Melbourne, after working in community news for two years in Perth.Jess’s writing was featured in the Best Australian Science Writing 2018 anthology, and her articles have been published by Overland, Meanjin, ACMI, Tasmanian Writers Centre, Un Projects and Fairfax Media, among others.
