Marlee is a proud Kamilaroi/Dunghutti woman living in the southern suburbs of Sydney. In 2018, she completed her Honours degree in Creative Writing at the University of Technology Sydney and had a short story published for the first time in Anita Heiss’ anthology ‘Growing Up Aboriginal in Australia’. She’s also had poetry published through Ibis House and recently began performing her poems, which is the storytelling format she loves the most. Self-described as sometimes a writer, always a fighter, Marlee is passionate about her culture, telling stories and sharing the importance of celebrating Aboriginal Australia with everyone she meets.
