When writing for young adults, writing sensitively and inclusively about issues of gender, sexuality, mental health and cultural identities can impact and shape your readers’ values. At this panel, authors of YA fiction will discuss how character, dialogue, narrative and setting can champion diversity in YA fiction.

Are you coming?

Our festival is 100% free. It’s always free. But this year, National Young Writers’ Festival is asking for you to register for the festival. Registering for our festival means you can help us maintain and secure our ongoing funding. We rely on funding to provide this opportunity to artists and audiences. We need to understand who exactly we provide this opportunity to.

Can you support NYWF?

During registration, you’ll see an opportunity to buy a NYWF supporter ticket. If you love our festival, we encourage to help support our festival by becoming an NYWF supporter. The “ticket” doesn’t get you into anything extra, it’s a contribution to support the ongoing running costs of our festival: which is 100% free to attend!
