It’s DIY theatre meets talk show. It’s celebrity guests, games, and late night shenanigans. It’s cheeky banter at your favourite Newcastle festival. It’s The Late Act with Mason Manhattan. Join our studio audience for the filming our debut episode.

About your hosts:

Mason Manhattan is an actor, show host, and a goddamn champion. He is Jimmy Fallon meets Aussie theatre meets better hair. Mason has starred in a few theatre productions and short films but is looking forward to this break out role.

Simon Charles Arthur is a man with three first names. He is a loyal and fearless co-host. He is truly a Joe Biden to Mason’s Obama. A basketball to Michael Jordan’s Space Jam appearance. A Bat-Horse to the Dark Knight. Yes, Bat-Horse. It’s a real Batman character. No, don’t Google it, trust me.

This event is part of Last Fridays – TiNA TAKEOVER.

Last Fridays presents after-hours access to Newcastle Art Gallery exhibitions, a drink at their pop up bar and a diverse program, changing monthly. This month, This is Not Art (TiNA), one of Australia’s leading emerging arts festivals is taking over the Newcastle Art Gallery. TiNA CoPresenters’ Critical Animals and Crack X, alongside Special Guest WE DON’T DANCE will pop up in the Gallery presenting installation art, poetry performances, live music and more.

Laman Street will be buzzing with more TINA events next door at the Library, presented by the National Young Writers’ Festival.

Last Fridays is supported by Create NSW’s Audience Development Fund, a devolved funding program administered by Museums & Galleries of NSW on behalf of the NSW Government.

This is Not Art is supported by the City of Newcastle.
